How do I register a “found” fainting goat?

If you purchase a found goat (with unknown or limited history), fill out the registration application with as much information that you know.  If you know the herd name or person who owned the goat when born, you can use their IFGA registered herd name or their last name if they are not members ONLY if their signature is on the “Born the property of” line.  If their signature is not available then your IFGA registered herd name must be used and you will sign on the “Found goat purchased by” line.  Found goats from unknown herd backgrounds should be registered using your herd prefix.
Make sure you sign the application on the appropriate line for “Found” goats rather than the “Born the Property of” line.
All goats being registered must contain a herd prefix.

It is not allowed for bucks, and though it is allowed for does, it is not favored.

I purchased a bred doe.  Under what name do I register the kids when they are born?

The IFGA's policy is that the kids are registered under your farm/herd name since you are the owner at the time of their birth.
